ABOUT US

Dancer Holding Hands Above Head

The YEM Theatre School has been established since 1987 and has an outstanding reputation for the performing arts.

In 2019, the agency was set up to showcase our talented students and carefully selected performers across the country. Since then, it has gone from strength to strength and in 2021, rebranded to ‘Bosher-Edwards Talent’ under the knowledge and guidance of agent, Liz Pratt.

Liz is a fellow creative who has been in and around the industry her whole life. She understands the passion, dreams and drive of performers, as well as the realities of the business.

Bosher-Edwards Talent now represents a select number of Adults and Children across the entertainment industry.

We open our books for a few weeks twice a year in July and January. If you are interested in applying, please do get in touch either via the contact form or email.  We would love to hear from you.

  •  If you live in the local area, you will need to be a current member of The YEM Theatre School with very good class attendance and you will need to be currently taking lessons in YEM ballet, YEM jazz as well as a YEM weekend workshop class for a triple-threat performer (tap, street, musical theatre. Group Three and up – drama)
  • If you live too far away for classes, you will need to be taking the same level of training at your local school.
  • You will need to be fully contactable by phone and email to receive auditions and castings; replying with your availability by a set time
  • We further recommend a second drama class and private singing lessons to help prepare for any audition songs and or monologues/scripts to be learnt. We can also set up private lessons and casting workshops should you need it.
  • You will be required to be a full member of Spotlight.com
  • Please ensure all casting information is accurate including height, playing age etc and that photographs are updated each year.
  • If asked to start a license please do this at speed! Schools may take a few days to produce a letter needed for licensing and this will be crucial to an offer.
  • If and when you get cast as a role/part you will need to behave in a professional manner, as you will be representing the school. Anyone who does not represent the school in a professional manner will be dropped from the agency books immediately.
  • Please ensure that you are correctly prepared for auditions. If you are issued with a script you are expected to learn it.
  • You and your parents will need to be fully committed to travelling on short notice to auditions and castings.
  • You will need to be confident, and keep calm in audition situations. It won’t matter if your teachers’ know how good you are in class; you need to show this in the audition, as this is all casting directors will see.
  •  Being early to an audition, casting or job will never be an issue; however poor time keeping will be and will be the main reason an agency loses work. Always leave enough time for those unexpected traffic jams, transport delays or weather issues.
  • Once you sign up with ‘Bosher-Edwards Talent’ you will be on their books for one year with the option to renew.
  • Children who look young for their age have an advantage, as directors prefer to work with children who look young but behave with maturity.
  • If your appearance, contact details or anything else regarding work and the agency changes you must notify ‘Bosher-Edwards Talent’ straight away.
  • Please be philosophical and realistic as we can’t guarantee work! The casting experience should be positive and is valuable training for life.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the industry and what is expected of you.
  • You must be a member of Spotlight.com.
  • Make sure your headshots and showreels are current and show the best of you.
  • Once you sign up with ‘Bosher-Edwards Talent’ you will be on their books for one year with the option to renew.
